Have you always wanted to improve some aspect of graduate life at Stanford, but never figured out how? The 2013 ASSU Elections will be held on April 11th and 12th– and that means YOU (yes, you) should be thinking about running for Stanford student government. Being on the GSC is the most effective way to create true change at the University level.
Consider running for Graduate Student Council (15 spots, representing all Schools and departments). All you need to do is to fill out a short candidacy statement at http://petitions.stanford.edu/ (Click “Declare” at the top and fill in your information).

Start early on your taxes (Deadline to file by4/15/13)!
Come hear the representatives from Sacramento talk about important aspects of filing your taxes, such as which income is taxable, education credits, filing separately or jointly, etc. Please indicate below if you will be attending. Additionally, please indicate below whether you have any specific questions you want to be addressed. This is a free session.
Additionally, this year we will be recording the sessions to show at a later date to accommodate those people who cannot make this session. If you will be using this service, please do indicate so we can get an idea of the number of people to expect at the future sessions.

There will be free tax workshops in late March to help you understand the process of filing tax forms. You have to register for these workshops.
Summary: A professional from CINTAX (the recommended software to prepare taxes for international students) has been invited to help give an overview and explain the tax filing process for international students. To be very clear, since there are too many international students with different tax situations, this WILL NOT be a question and answer session. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Since the session is in Spring Break, it will be recorded and shown at a later date as indicated below.
