All off campus grad students will be getting reduced cost go passes, which means you can ride caltrain as much as you want. Will start in September. Right now we are in planning and advertising stage. Working with Parking and Transportation and Grad Life office, Vice Provost for Grad Education. Met with VPGE, we will be getting 2000 of postcards to pass out. Has info about what they need to do: check eligibility, log onto website that P&TS is creating, apply for pass, pick up pass in person. One of the postdocs created a dynamic cost saving calendar on the website too. David suggests creating something to create a reminder on the advertising. Trevor says want to spend money on ice creams for events in the fall for go pass purchase and pickup events in the fall. During NGSO there’s definitely 2 events: mock meeting (Sept 17 6pm) and pizza party (Sept 14 5pm). Trevor asking for volunteers. Meredith volunteers to organize ice cream parties to promote go passes. Trevor also wants to advertise on the GSC website. David recommends partnering with the post doc assoc.
