PROGRAMMING COORDINATOR

It's the duty of the Programming Coordinator to invent and carry out fresh programs for graduate students. Ingenuity is a must for this officer! It is expected there will be at least one MAJOR event facilitated by this person in an academic year, though the potential for more is not limited. Specifically, this officer should:

  • Create and propose events and significant new opportunities for graduate students to be positively impacted by the GSC (e.g. travel scholarships, an innovative symposium series, etc.)
  • Raise awareness of the GSC and its efforts in the graduate community
  • Raise interaction among traditionally separated groups (e.g. encourage interdepartmental activities)
  • Ensure that the annual GSC programming budget is balanced
  • Propose novel events to the GSC (including a budget and expected participation and impact)
  • Form committees, organize, and execute approved events
  • Serve as a liaison between the GSC and GSPB and provide the GSC with GSPB programming updates
