TAX COORDINATOR
It's the duty of the Tax Coordinator to make filing taxes easier for Stanford graduate students. It is this officer's goal to see that no graduate student feels uninformed about tax law or has to pay for tax services. Specifically, this officer should:
- Educate graduate students and provide tax resources
- Execute tax workshops targeted at student filers
- Negotiate with Inuit for free Turbo Tax vouchers
- Encourage graduate students to use free tax services for simple returns, and distribute vouchers only to graduate students who cannot utilize other free resources
- Formulate and present to the GSC a budget and proposal for tax support efforts at the start of the calendar year
