WEBMASTER

It's the duty of the Webmaster to maintain, regularly update, and proactively develop the GSC web site. The job of webmaster is particularly important in that the web site represents the history of the GSC. Specifically, this officer should:

  • Update the web site regularly with meeting agendas and minutes, quarterly bulletins, mass e-mail and Grad Events Bulletins, funding requests, announcements, etc.
  • Annually, update the web site regarding membership, annual budget, etc.
  • Proactively gather content for the web site from other members
  • Advise GSC members about technical aspects of their web/electronic ideas for the GSC
  • Serve as the GSC's liaison to hired technical staff when work required on the site falls outside the bounds of the webmaster's job description (e.g. developing the Thanksgiving dinner e-ticketing system)
  • Occasionally redesign sections of the site at the request of other members
  • Monitor and report to GSC periodically about web site traffic
  • Maintain the web server (fix hardware problems, add/remove user accounts, etc.)
