What is the GSC?
The Graduate Student Council (GSC) is the representative body of the Graduate Students at Stanford. Visit .
Voting members of the GSC are elected each year in the ASSU Spring Elections. The 15 voting members are chosen from all schools across campus in an attempt to represent the interests of all Stanford graduate and professional students.
The GSC meets every Wednesday at 6PM at the Graduate Community Center 2nd floor Conference Room. You are welcome to attend all meetings to learn more about various advocacy and programming efforts for the graduate community. Food and refreshments are provided.

What is the Nominations Commission?
The ASSU Nominations Commission is comprised of 6-7 undergraduate and graduate students. Together, these individuals are responsible for interviewing and nominating student members to positions on the 40-45 permanent University Committees during the Spring Cycle in May and also on the host of ad-hoc committees that come up during the year.
The time commitment during the Spring Cycle is approximately 20-25 hours over three weeks, and 10 hours each during the Fall and Winter Quarters.

GSC Spring PARTY
It's the last blowout before the GSC Spring Election. Music. Food. Drinks. Raffles. Plus meet the candidates for the 2005 GSC Elections.
When: Thursday, March 31, 8:00 PM to 12:00 PM
Where: First Floor of the Graduate Community Center (750 Escondido Road)
Cost: FREE for all graduate students!
Proof of age (21) required for alcohol.

Become an Institute for Research on Women and Gender GRADUATE STUDENT AFFILIATE!
You are invited to join the efforts of the Institute for Research on Women and Gender. As an Institute Graduate Student Affiliate, you will receive email notices about funding opportunities at the Institute as well as information about lectures and research projects.
Some of the funding opportunities that the Institute currently offers to graduate students include:
- Graduate Dissertation Fellows Program
Fellowships are awarded to Stanford University doctoral students who are in
the writing stages of their dissertations and whose research focuses on women and/or gender.
- Marjorie Lozoff Graduate Essay Prize
Prizes are awarded annually for the best essay on women and/or gender.
- Woodhull Institute's Young Women's Leadership Retreats
The Institute offers one scholarship per year to a Stanford student who participates in the Woodhull Institute Ethical Leadership Retreat.
