3. Announcements (Paul)

4. Funding (Adam):

Persian Students Association (PSA) requesting funds for 3 one hour lectures about Persian music. There will be live music (Stanford students will play). The PSA is requesting $210.00 for coffee and water for 30 people. The request was capped at $150.00.

Paul: Any objections? (No) passes by consensus

5. Fall Retreat (Paul):


There were only 7 responses out of 15 voting members. Are there any thoughts? Is there interest? And what should we do?

Dirk: Is it a one day retreat?

Adam: Traditionally it’s been three days, 1 day to drive there, 1 day to plan, 1 day to drive back.

Fen The welcome party is slept 29th so we can’t go then.

Donna: The 16th and 17th is the CA retreat.

Paul: Maybe we can do it later (after school starts) in early October? Jenny or I will send an email and please respond.

6. Goalie (Paul)

Goalie is from noon until 2pm on Friday Sept 22nd. At goalie we will try to get people involved with the GSC, sign up for an email list. Who can help out?

Volunteers: Kristina, Fen, Yanna, Adam (needs to check his schedule and will confirm) Maria (for a bit because she will also be at a different table).

Paul: Do we have things to give away?

Donna/Matt: We need more.

Matt: we should order them 3 weeks in advance

Donna: I’m away in San Diego until the 18th.

My ideas are: USB keys, bags, pens, bottle openers (metal).

Matt: we have a database of promo stuff

Donna: We need enough for ~1000 people

Fen: I’ll help decide what to give away

Matt Fen & Brandon will meet by next week.
