GO PASS EXTENDED FOR 2007, BALLOT MEASURE MUST PASS TO KEEP PROGRAMThe Caltrain GO Pass for off-campus students has been extended for 2007. The exact date when the passes will be available is not yet known, but will most likely be within about a week. The pass, sold by Parking & Transportation Services, will cost $99.50, and students picking up the pass will not be eligible for Clean Air Cash. The 2007 GO Pass for off-campus graduate students has been made possible with major financial support from the Office of the Provost. Additional funds were provided by the Graduate Student Council and the Deans of the following Schools: Engineering, Humanities and Science, Medicine, Law, and Business. Continuation of the GO Pass for subsequent years is entirely dependent on successful passage of a special fees ballot measure in the April 2007 ASSU Elections. A similar measure was proposed in 2006, but did not receive the necessary votes to pass. Details of the new measure, which will again ask for a special fee levied on the graduate student population, will be made available in March. IF THE 2007 BALLOT MEASURE DOES NOT PASS, THE GO PASS PROGRAM WILL NOT BE EXTENDED.For more information, please contact the Graduate Student Transportation Board, the GSC Advocacy Committee dealing with transportation programs, at grad-commute-owner@lists.stanford.edu. Also, the "grad-commute" email list will be used to post updates and advocacy opportunities; to subscribe, go to http://mailman.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/grad-commute.
